The major in mathematics combines broad study of fundamental theories with in-depth investigation of particular subjects chosen from pure, applied and computational mathematics. Active research throughout the mathematical sub-disciplines, spurred on in part by advances in computing technology, leads to new perspectives and applications. Mathematics is fundamental to the formulation and analysis of scientific theories, is a rich and independent field of inquiry, and its study is excellent preparation for life in our highly specialized society.

Be sure to log in for virtual support at the start of each semester in order to ensure success. The Mathematics Department supports CASA's Mathematics Learning Lab (MaLL).

It illustrates the prerequisites required for each course, and the order in which courses are to be taken, based on academic need. The sequence of mathematics courses at UNM-Taos is shown here. Natural Resources Management Page Degree Sheets We have an excellent track record of job placement after degree completion. We support students through transfer to regional colleges/universities to complete Bachelor’s degrees. Forest Service and local organizations such as Taos Land Trust to provide students with hands-on experience and skills. We partner with federal agencies such as the U.S. We provide you with the education you need to understand environments, human impacts, and management approaches to protect and preserve wildlife, water, and land resources. If you love fishing, hiking, and camping, then this is the program for you. The Natural Resources Management program within the Math & Sciences Department is for students who love the outdoors and want a job taking care of it.
